This was the number of visitors at the performance of Beethoven’s The Ninth on Saturday 11th March. Although it is hard to even imagine such a great number of people in the Zajc Theatre, this figure proves it to be possible. We simply could not ignore such a great number of calls and requests of those who remained without tickets once the auditorium had been sold out from the first row of the stalls to the last row of the balcony. We added emergency seats and thus filled every corner of the theatre.
The result was that Beethoven’s The Ninth is the recorder according to the attendance in the last three seasons, surely also further in the past!
In the last years we have registered a great rise in the interest for the concert programme. Thus far we thought it was going to be hard to exceed the number of visitor to concerts as Matvejeff Conducting Beethoven and Shostakovich, Mahler’s The Fifth, From the New World and the Gala concerts as the one by Diana Haller or the Super Gala – Faust. However, the “Symphony of Symphonies” recorded the “number of the number of visitors”. So, next time, do not wait, do not think twice, and do not be late. Symphony concerts at the Rijeka HNK are definitely the jackpot!
