YOUNG AND EXCELLENT: THE CROATIAN STRING QUARTET CONTINUES CYCLE OF CHAMBER CONCERTS IN ZAJC

5 November 2020

The cycle of chamber concerts in Zajc continues with the Croatian String Quartet on Sunday, November 8, with a concert starting at 7 PM.
Martin Draušnik and Alina Gubaidulina on violins, Aleksandar Jakopanec on viola and Zita Varga on the cello will perform two string quartets: Ludwig van Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 3 in D Major and Stjepan Šulek’s String Quartet No. 3 in E-flat Major from the cycle “My Childhood.”

In the string quartet, the most demanding and most perfect chamber ensemble, both unity and individuality come to the fore. Although the youngest Croatian quartet, the Croatian String Quartet quickly established itself as the leading chamber ensemble in Croatia with its energy, dedication and quality.

Music critics have already said the following of their concert performances: “The sound of playing by a new chamber body delighted and carried into the ethereality of thoughts and feelings, which brought the sincere pleasure of listening and watching their youthful professional enthusiasm,” or, “So young, and excellent! – such excitement burst from the listener’s heart during and at the end of the concert… The Croatian String Quartet is a brilliant chamber ensemble, worthy of the high name it bears. Very gifted, well-educated, already affirmed, with an innate sense of chamber music, to the joy of the entire public – they joined the imperative of the string quartet and deserve to be Croatian cultural deputies of high achievement.”
