Ticket sales for the remaining July programs have begun. The premiere of the ballet-dance performance “Burning Water” awaits you on Monday, July 27, with a reprise performance on Thursday, July 30. The show, choreographed by the famous Andonis Foniadakis, tells the story of water, of its contrasts, its power as both the source of life and a destructive force, and of its impact on the human body, soul, and everything around us.
Then, on Friday, July 31, you will have the opportunity to see the premiere of Georg Friedrich Händel’s opera “Julius Caesar in Egypt – Anew”, with dramaturgy and direction by Marin Blažević and conducted by maestro Ville Matvejeff. In the spring of 2016, 292 years after its premiere in London, the Rijeka audience was introduced to “Julius Caesar in Egypt” as the first baroque opera on the Rijeka stage, with great success. We have decided to not only renew this opera, but to also direct it afresh. Those who come to this July performance will be the first to see and experience a new version of the opera, which will be presented at the prestigious “Savonlinna Opera Festival” in Finland next year.
Be sure to secure your tickets on time, as the number of seats in our de luxe auditorium is limited!
