EXCELLENT “LA TRAVIATA” MOVED AUDIENCE TO TEARS

9 February 2021

The audience of the premiere of La traviata rewarded the opera ensemble with powerful applause during the curtain call following the performance.

The measures brought about by the pandemic were turned into an advantage by the Traviata creative team, all in order for one of Verdi’s most popular operas to be performed in front of the audience. This advantage has made the Rijeka Theater the only one in the region in which operas are currently being performed, and which is guided by the fact that spiritual health is just as important as spiritual health.

“Brilliant soloists, choir and orchestra. I haven’t seen such a good opera in a long time.”

“Fantastic. I liked everything.”

“Verdi’s music is always beautiful. I like epidemiologically adapted directing. I am very satisfied. Beautifully developed relationships between the main characters.”

“It’s a great show. Relationships are the core of this opera. The reduction of the action has brought it down to the essentials – to the relationships.”

“Excellent Violetta! Anamarija conveyed her emotions through her acting, especially in the third act when she moved me to tears.”

The dramaturg, director and author of the concept, Marin Blažević, dedicated the show La traviata to two acting legends:

“I personally dedicate this play Traviata to two artists whose acting performances and friendships are woven into my every reflection on the idea, passion and responsibility of the theater. The two of them recently left the Theater and the World. This Traviata is for Zoja Odak. This Traviata is for Mira Furlan.”

The reprise of the opera will be held Saturday, Feb 13 at 6 PM.
