The performance is performed without intermission

Meeting Point: Grivica Square – Church of St. Vitus
Walk Route: Old Town and Dolac

This interpretative walk will cover the buildings and locations in the Old Town and Dolac areas where theatrical activities took place from the Middle Ages to the mid-20th century. The tour will visit the sites of medieval liturgical plays, point out where the Jesuit School Theater performed, and show where the first public theater and the first theater outside the city walls operated.

Participants will also visit the site of the baroque Bono Theater, where the Emperor watched a performance during his visit to Rijeka in 1775. The walk will highlight where amateur theater associations and summer theaters were located in this area, where the Municipal Theater was originally supposed to be built, and what Teatro Fenice—the largest theater ever built in Rijeka and Croatia—looks like today.
