Álvaro Olmedo was born in Madrid in November 1998. He started ballet training at the age of 12 at Conservatorio Carmen Amaya in Madrid. In 2017 he graduated simultaneously at the conservatory and Central School of Ballet in London, obtaining a BA(Hons) degree in dance and performance. During his time in London he was part of Ballet Central, a young company where that performed works by many renowned british choreographers in over 23 UK Cities. He then moved to New York City to attend The Juilliard School were he expanded his movement vocabulary training in modern techniques such as Graham, Limón and Horton, improvisation techniques, Gaga, contact and composition. During his training years he performed works by Marco Goecke, Bryan Arias, José Limón, Bill T. Jones, Nelly Van Bommel, Liam Scarlett or Matthew Bourne between many others.

After a year and a half professional hiatus, Álvaro resumed his career in January 2021 as a freelance artist in Madrid and worked in many different productions with Antonio Ruz, Ángel Rodríguez, Eduardo Vallejo and Teatro de la Zarzuela. In September 2022 he joins the Croatian National Theatre Ivana pl. Zajca in Rijeka.
