Gina Patterson has created more than 100 choreographies for companies, universities, and international audiences. Thirteen full-evening productions include the Emmy-winning Liquid Roads for MADCO, an original adaptation of Romeo and Juliet for CoDa21 in Puerto Rico, and a unique Hansel and Gretel created for HNK Zajc. Her work encompasses concept and direction, collaborating across disciplines with creations that are non-linear and interactive, employing multi-sensory triggers and innovations in use of story, space, and venue. She illuminates social and environmental issues examining the interconnection with our land and each other, holding close the power of listening and respect. A recently awarded Bogliasco Fellowship in Italy (Fall 2021) follows accolades that include a Choo San Goh Award and a nomination for an Isadora Duncan Dance Award. Ms. Patterson was commissioned by the McKnight Foundation: SOLO Commissioning Program for fellowship recipient Chris Hannon. Her passionate dedication to a lifetime in the arts has given her extensive experience in the field. With attention to mindfulness and awareness, she educates and mentors through choreography, creativity workshops, and multi-disciplinary collaborations with young artists of all ages. Ms. Patterson advocates for empathy and compassion as a creative artist searching to uncover the voice within that is authentic and vulnerable—human.
