Lidija Horvat Dunjko graduated and received her master’s degree in solo singing (Lied, oratorium and opera) at the Academy of Music in Zagreb, Croatia, in the class of professor Zdenka Zabočić. She has received numerous Croatian and international awards and acknowledgements. She has pursued her professional development in Vienna, under Olivera Miljaković, and in Zagreb, under Dunja Vejzović.

Up untill now, she has created over thirty major opera characters in Croatia and abroad, as well as several operettas and musicals. She is especially favoured on the concert stage. With her recitals she has won the hearts of audience in Paris (Theatre des Champs Élysées), Vienna (Musikverein, Konzerthaus), Toronto (Ryerson Theatre, Massey Hall), Berlin, Torino, Venice, Madrid, Zurich, Buenos Aires (Teatro Colón), Montevideo, Santiago de Chile, Johannesburg, Moscow (Tchaikovsky Concert Hall).

Lidija has sung alongside the most illustrious artists of today, as well as the most eminent conductors and orchestras. Her richly modulated voice, great musicality, extraordinary vocal abilities and excellent musical education enable her to perform in a wide variety of styles, from the early renaissance to the 20th century avant-garde. She is a member of several baroque ensembles. Many Croatian and foreign composers have dedicated their works to her. While persuing her amazingly diverse artistic activities, she has also been engaged in pedagogical work, as Fellow Professorat the Academy of Music in Zagreb, Croatia and the University of Juraj Dobrila in Pula, Croatia. She is the founder and leader of the International Opera Summer School «MIRULA» in Pučišć on the island Brač, Croatia. To date, she has released 16 albums. She has edited a collection of solo songs by Croatian composers, entitled «LJUVEN SANAK» and for the past several years she has also been involved in the scientific work in the field of voice medicine, in the team of Professor Santa Večerina Volić, D. Sc., for which they have received international acknowledgements. Since 2010. she has been the artistic director of the International Festival of Chamber Music – Lubenice Musical Evenings – on the island Cres.

In 1996. she was honored with the medal of the order Danica hrvatska s likom Marka Marulića, the highest Croatian acknowledgement for cultural merit.
