The Rijeka Opera is preparing two musical spectacles to give a guest performance with in the Pula Arena, namely, the opera Aida and the cantata Carmina Burana.
Having chosen these two musical aces of its repetoire that bear the power of classical works, but also bring a new interpretation, the Rijeka CNT Opera ensemble revives the synergy of a supreme musical-dramatic art and the historical ancient amphiteatre in Pula that is more than just a stage.
Aida is one of the most famous world operas, work of the composer Giuseppe Verdi. In the classical-modern and visually attractive direction, this staging features the singing team lead by the primadonna of the Rijeka Opera, Kristina Kolar in the leading role. Next to her, there is the national opera soloist of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, Dubravka Šeparović Mušović in the role of Amneris, also three world opera greats, lords of opera stages from Vienna and Milano to London, namely, Fabio Armiliato as Radames, Giorgio Surian as Amonasro and Carlo Colombara as Ramfis. The eminent Maestro Marco Boemi conducts this Rijeka Aida in the Pula Arena.
Aida will be performed with surtitles in two languages in the Pula Arena on 27th July 2018.
Carmina Burana, famous scenic cantata of medieval verses set to music that the German composer Carl Orff presented already in 1937 in Frankfurt, in the production of the CNT Ivan pl. Zajc orchestra and chorus under the baton of Maestro Ville Matvejeff and with Sumi Jo and brilliant soloists Robert Kolar and Marko Fortunato, will be performed in the Pula Arena on 29th July 2018.
