Pedro Rosenthal Campuzano

Started his musical lessons at the age of 6 with piano and percussion. In 2012 he got a student place at the ‚Pablo Sarasate Superior Music Conservatory of Navarra’ due to the start of his parallel studies in Telecommunications Engineering, specializing in Sound and Image at the ‘Public University of Navarra’. In 2014 he won the 1st Prize in the XII Chamber Music Competition ‘Fernando Remacha’ with a percussion duo, which opened the doors to meet the teachers of the ‘Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt’ from Weimar where he went to study next year with Markus Leoson and Alejandro Coello Calvo.

In 2016 he won both auditions as a substitute for percussion in the renowned ‘Staatskapelle Weimar’ and in the ‘Thüringer Symphoniker Orchester’ for the following season. He finished the Bachelor’s studies in Germany with the highest marks in his final concert, and in the same week he won the audition for the academy place at the ‘Staatskapelle Weimar’ with a two-year contract. He kept auditioning and playing in German orchestras, such as the Erfurt Theater, Meininger Staatstheater, Theater Nordhausen/Loh Orchester Sondershausen, Landes Jungend Symphonie Orchester Hessen, Thüringer Symphoniker Orchester or the Jenaer Philarmonie.

Lately he wins two important auditions; one is to play in the ‘West-Eastern Divan Orchestra’ under the baton of maestro Daniel Barenboim, playing in world-class theatres such as the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Waldbühne in Berlin, Royal Albert Hall in London, or festivals such as the Festival Lucerne or the Salzburg Festival among others; and the other is for the position of Principal Percussionist at the Croatian National Opera, in Rijeka where he continues to play.

Now he is currently focused on the composition and the rereading and arranging of works for his ensemble ReVibrant and for other projects.
