The “Zinka Milanov” International Competition for Young Singers is currently underway in Rijeka, and all the fans who cannot visit “Zajc” in person will now be able to watch the singers’ performances at the semi-finals on July 12 and at the finale, the gala concert on July 14! Link.
Everyone who can, be sure to come to the Rijeka Theatre on Thursday, July14 at 7 PM for an exciting gala finale featuring top young soloists who will perform two famous arias alongside the Rijeka Symphony Orchestra under the direction of maestro Simon Krečič. The best singers will be determined by not only the international jury, but also the audience who attends that evening!
The members of the jury of this year’s competition are eleven distinguished opera artists, directors of opera houses and agents from the world of opera who will decide who the winners of the valuable prizes will be following the performance of the finalists.
The Theatre is full of songs and young people; the streets of Rijeka are singing, as well as the balconies of the Rijeka buildings where the young people from numerous countries around the world are rehearsing for their performances. They are all gathered here in honor of our most famous singer of the 20th century, the longtime prima donna of the New York Metropolitan, our very own Zinka Kunc Milanov.
