The actress and mezzo-soprano Giulia Diomede was born in Trani, Italy.
Extremely eclectic in nature and passionate in temperament, Giulia made her first steps in the world of theater at the Ancient Theater of Syracuse, Italy, in 2009.
From 2009 to 2015 she worked as an actress at the “Fondazione Inda” – National Institute of Ancient Drama of Syracuse – where she performed under the direction of the most important directors in Italy such as Antonio Calendar, Paolo Magelli and Claudio Longhi.
Meanwhile, she graduated with top honors in Science of Classical Antiquity at the University of Bari in 2010, specializing in Performing Arts and Multimedia Production at the same University with full marks and praise in 2015.
In 2012, Giulia graduated as an actress at the Academy of Art of Ancient Drama in Syracuse under the guidance of Mauro Avogadro. She was called to sing at the world premiere in the concert “Voci per Dramma Antico”, a stage concert for the world congress about “Pizzetti classico e moderno” by Nicola Sani, staged at the “Accademia Musicale Chigiana” of Siena in 2018.
In November 2019, at the Coccia Theatre of Novara Giulia made her debut in the first Italian performance of the contemporary opera “Ami e Tami” by Màtti Kovler conducted by Marco Alibrando and directed by Marco Iacomelli, with the double role of Mother and Witch.
In 2019-2020, she attended the master class for opera singers at the Academy of Professions of the Opera House at the Coccia Theatre under the guidance of Paoletta Marrocu. In the same year she performed in the contemporary opera “Donna di Veleni” by Marco Podda conducted by Vittorio Parisi and directed by Alberto Jona.
In October 2020, she graduated in opera singing at the Tomadini Conservatory in Udine.
In November 2020 she made her debut in the role of Hecuba in the world premiere of the contemporary opera “Cassandra, in Te Dormiva un Sogno” by Marco Podda, conducted by Petar Matosevic and Riccardo Bisatti and directed by Daniele Salvo at the Coccia Theatre of Novara.
In 2021 she was selected by “Accademia del Belcanto Rodolfo Celletti” directed by Alberto Triola.
In October of the same year, Giulia was called to sing at the world premiere of two new compositions in Cividale del Friuli: “Splende muta la luna”, by Rossella Spinosa, and “Gli uncini del diavolo”, by Carla Magnan and Carla Rebora.
In 2023 she makes her debut as Azucena in G. Verdi “Il Trovatore” conducting by Antonello Allemandi and directed by Deda Cristina Colonna at the Coccia Theater of Novara and also in Teatro Sociale di Rovigo conducted by Francesco Rosa. In the same year she sings Azucena at Taranto Opera Festival conducting by Lorenzo Bizzarri and directed by Luigi Travaglio.
She will debut in the role of Polina and Governess in Pique Dame conducted by Valentin Egel and directed by Christian Romanowski and Dunja Vejzović at Ivan Zajc Theater in Rijeka.
Her technical-interpretive training is followed by the soprano Paoletta Marrocu. She studies repertoire with Dunja Vejzović. She currently studies music scores with M° Silvano Zabeo, with whom Giulia has worked on the theme of “Melologhi” in several concerts, including “Enoch Arden” by R. Strauss and “Die Weise von Liebe und tod des Cornets Cristoph Rilke” by Viktor Ullmann.
