The Armenian soprano Marianna Martirosyan began as a pianist at the Stepanakert Sayat-Nova Music College and in 2013 began vocal studies at the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan. In 2015 she was a member of the Young Artists Programme at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, where she participated in masterclasses with Alessandro Amoretti, Giulio Zappa, Hedwig Fassbender, Yevgeniy Nesterenko. Ernesto Palacio, Brenda Hurley. In 2016, Marianna was invited to join the Young Artists Opera Programme of the Opera and Ballet Theatre of Armenia after a performance at “Tchaikovsky Gala “ with maestro Constantine Orbelian at the Opera and Ballet Theater of Armenia. In 2019 she was granted the “Emerging Artist” scholarship by the Premiere Opera Vocal Arts Institute, to participate at their intensive course of 4 weeks in Trani- Italy where she worked with voice teachers as Dale Fundling, Michael Paul, Barbara Frittoli.
In 2020 she began her Master studies at the Hochschule für Musik Würzburg with Prof. Cheryl Studer and KS Prof. Jochen Kupfer. During her studies she sang in the concert performance of Mozart’s opera „Don Giovanni„ as part of the Mozartfest Würzburg. She has recently appeared as Erste Dame (Die Zauberflöte) at the Mainfranken Theater Würzburg. In the 2022/23 season, Marianna is looking forward to her title role debut as Lisa ( Pique Dame) in a new production at the Croatian National Theatre in Rijeka as well as in Zagreb under the baton of Maestro Valentin Egel.
The highlight of her career includes RA President Prize in the category of Vocal Arts of classical music. Marianna is second prize winner of the International Dvořák Competition, with awards including third prize at the Pyongyang International Vocal Competition, a Diploma and Special Prize at the 13th Aram Khachaturian International Competition.In 2021 she was a finalist in the Montserrat Caballé International Competition. At the “Zinka Milanov” International Competition of Young Opera Singers she won the “Special Prize” of the Croatia National Opera Theater in Rijeka.
Also at 60 Tenor Viñas Competition in Barcelona Marianna won ” Extraordinary Prize” from OpernWerkstatt.
