15 July 2022

Soprano Darija Auguštan is a twice-over laureate of the Fourth “Zinka Milanov” International Competition of Young Opera Singers: she is the best according to the evaluation of the international expert jury, i.e. the winner of the first monetary prize, as well as the best according to the audience vote.

The second prize of the jury was awarded to mezzo-soprano Emilia Rukavina, and the third to Ukrainian bass Serhii Moskalchuk, who, along with Czech baritone Robin Červinek, also won the special prize of the Opera of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb. Serhii Moskalchuk is also the winner of the special award of the Opera of the Slovenian National Theatre in Maribor.

The special award of the Opera of the Slovenian National Theatre in Ljubljana went to baritone Davor Nekjak, and the special award of the Opera of the Croatian National Theatre Ivan pl. Zajc in Rijeka was awarded to Armenian soprano Marianna Martirosyan.

Five young singers received special awards from the Opera of the Chemnitz Theatre: tenor Bože Jurić Pešić, baritones Krešimir Dujmić, Jurica Jurasić Kapun and Robin Červinek, and Dutch mezzo-soprano Véronique van der Meijden.

We congratulate each of the award winners and thank all of the contestants!
