Opera principal and tenor Domagoj Dorotić joined our ensemble this season, and has already become one of the audience’s favorite soloists, especially as Mario Cavaradossi in Puccini’s “Tosca”, directed and dramatized by Marin Blažević. He speaks of his transfer to Rijeka as “a great thing for his professional development.”
At Saturday’s concert “Nessun Dorma”, he will perform the scene and duet between Don Carlo and Rodrigo “E lui! Desso! L’infante! … Dio che nell’alma infondere,” from Act 1 of Giuseppe Verdi’s opera “Don Carlo”. He will also perform Radames’s aria “Celese Aida” from Act 1 of Verdi’s opera “Aida”, at the same time announcing the new titles in next season’s opera repertoire.
