Riječki simfonijski orkestar

The Rijeka audience will have the opportunity to experience the concert of one of the most sought-after dramatic sopranos in the world!

Finnish soprano Karita Mattila, along with Finnish conductor Villa Matvejeff, brings some of her favorite roles to the Rijeka stage, which she has performed at La Scala, the Metropolitan and the Royal Opera House over a career spanning more than three decades. The program includes works by Puccini, Dvořák, Wagner, and, of course, Sibelius.

Kartia Mattila regularly performs throughout Europe with the greatest orchestras and on the most famous stages, and she has a rich discographic collection behind her. She has won numerous awards, including two Grammy Awards for Best Opera Recording, the Musician of the Year Award from Musical America Magazine and annual music awards from the prestigious Royal Philharmonic Society.

With this concert, the Rijeka Opera once more becomes a part of the world opera scene.
