Dear Audience,
Due to the emergence of a positive test for the SARS – CoV – 2 virus in the acting ensemble of the play “The Decamerone”, we have unfortunately been forced to postpone the premiere of the play originally announced for November 20, as well as the first two reprise performances on November 23 and 24, 2020. The premiere and reprise performances will return to the schedule in early December, for which we will provide the exact dates in a timely manner, as soon as all members of the acting ensemble return from self-isolation. Visitors who have purchased tickets for any of these three performances can keep them for the rescheduled performances, or can return them to the Theatre box office for a refund.
We will continue with the remaining programs through the end of November in accordance with the earlier schedule.
This is possible as, due to epidemiological measures, the employees of the Theatre are working in shifts, so the Croatian and Italian drama ensembles and their accompanying technical staff do not come into contact with the Opera and Ballet ensembles.
Due to this new situation, the distribution of the Audience Awards on Saturday, November 21 will not take place as originally planned, but rather only the best in the Ballet program will be awarded, as well as the award for the best overall performance of the previous season and the award for the best guest artist.
The awards for the best achievement in the Opera, as well as for the best concert, will be presented to the winners on Friday, November 27 after the symphony concert “Mussorgsky, Tchaikovsky”. Awards for the best achievements of the Croatian and Italian Drama, as well as for the best role in a musical, will be presented after the premiere of the play “The Decamerone” on a new date in early December. The winners of all the audience awards will be announced tomorrow.
We would like to once again remind you that Zajc respects all anti-epidemic measures and recommendations, even above and beyond those prescribed, thus ensuring that the Rijeka CNT remains a safe place for the audience. Therefore, in addition to all the usual safety measures, a thorough professional disinfection of the theatre building will be performed tomorrow.
The audience is crucial to the existence of the theatre, even with masks and physical distancing, so please stay with us. In these times, your support is perhaps more important to us than ever before, and we will continue to make sure that theatre remains a place where you can feel as protected as possible, and where together we resist spiritual distance.
We thank you for your understanding, and are scheduling a new meeting already on Saturday, at the performance of the ballet “Lace” as part of the Theatre Night program.
