Imagine yourself under the starry sky, watching and listening to one of the most renowned operas in the world. Once again, described experience is in the grasp of your hands as our Theatre returns to Pula Arena to perform Puccini’s “Tosca” on the 26th of July at 9 PM.
Conducted by the Slovenian maestro Simon Krečič and directed and dramatized by Marin Blažević, “Tosca” brings an intense story, a vortex in which political intrigues, escape, and pursuit, jealousy, betrayal, fatal lust, immorality, but above all faith in art, love, and freedom will interwove in the confines of an ancient Roman amphitheater.
The famous German soprano, an honorary member of our Opera, Maida Hundeling, will perform the title role. Alongside her, the role of Cavaradossi will play tenor Ivan Momirov, who has become an audience favorite in the recent years. The role of Scarpia will be played by the national opera champion, the famous Rijeka native Giorgio Surian, known all around the opera world in this role.
Full of intrigue and passion, “Tosca” has always been breathtaking with eternal arias such as “Vissi d’arte”, “E lucevan le stelle”, “Te Deum” and the duet between Tosca and Cavaradossi from Act 3.
