Ticket sales have begun for the remaining performances of the summer season. The September program features reprises of the most popular plays, highly successful ballet performances and two long-awaited concerts. In the drama program, you will see a reprise performance of the play “Practicing Life – Second Time”, a play about Rijeka identity, or identities, directed by Marin Blažević, and “Madame Minister”, directed by Tatjana Mandić Rigonat. With the legendary Nušić comedy, our national drama principal Olivera Baljak celebrates 40 years of her artistic work. If you haven’t already, you also have the opportunity to see the highly successful ballet “Lace”, by choreographer Maša Kolar and composer Tena Novak, on the topic of our Croatian cultural heritage.

A real treat for all opera lovers will be the Gala Concert of Karita Mattila, one of the greatest prima donnas of recent decades, which will take place on September 18. The prominent Finnish soprano, along with conductor Ville Matvejeff, will bring to life some of her favorite roles in this program with works by Richard Wagner.

The Rijeka Symphony Orchestra and the Rijeka Opera Choir, in cooperation with the Croatian Radio and Television Choir and Symphony Orchestra, will perform the second symphony “Auferstehung” (“Resurrection”), a colossal musical achievement by Gustav Mahler, at the Zamet Center on September 23. Soprano and national opera principal Kristina Kolar will perform as a soloist, as well as mezzo-soprano and Rijeka Opera principal Ivana Srbljan. The concert will be conducted by award-winning maestro Philipp von Steinaecker.
