Ticket sales are underway for all shows in November.
The Italian Drama company, in collaboration with Croatian Drama, is preparing the staging of the largest work of Italian narrative prose, Boccaccio’s “Decamerone.” The play is directed by Luciano Delprato and will premiere on November 10. Reprise performances will be held on November 12, 16, 17 and 20. Be sure to check out this modern reinterpretation of this classic, which is more relevant today than ever before. Additionally, the program includes reprises of the popular plays “Oedipus the King” by Luciano Delprato on November 13 and “Madame Minister” by Tatjana Mandić Rigonat on November 23, 24 and 28.
Fans of the concert and opera program can also expect an exciting lineup this season. Two symphony concerts are scheduled: “Mozart’s Requiem” on November 2, conducted by Valentin Egel with solo performances by Anamarija Knego, Ivana Srbljan, Aljaž Farasin and Luka Ortar, and “Mussorgsky, Tchaikovsky” on November 27, conducted by Philipp von Steinaecker with Giorgio Surian performing as a soloist. A chamber concert by the Croatian String Quartet (Hrvatski gudački kvartet) will be held on November 8, and, of course, reprise performances of the renewal of one of the most popular operas in the world, Bizet’s Carmen, will be held on November 3, 5, 7, 11 and 14.
This year’s European Theatre Night on Saturday, November 21, will be celebrated with the ballet “Lace” (“Čipka”) by choreographer Maša Kolar and composer Tena Novak Vincek. After that, we invite you to attend the Audience Award Ceremony for the best artistic achievements at the Croatian National Theatre Ivan pl. Zajc for the 2019/2020 season. As part of our new cycle “Hit Comedy Sundays in Zajc – HA HA HNK,” another hit play by the Zagreb theatre company “Luda kuća” will be performed on November 15, namely “No Love, Just Sex” (“Ništa ljubav, samo seks”), directed by René Bitorajac.
