Sales of all September programs have begun. In addition to the previously announced Puccini opera Madama Butterfly on September 10 and 25, featuring the enchanting “Butterfly” Anamarija Knego in the title role, as well as the Gala Concert of the Ljubljana Opera and Ballet on September 11, further awaiting you are a dramatic diptych about Rijeka as well as another musical premiere.
The Rijeka diptych combines two novels about the imprints of Rijeka’s history and present, with the two plays from previous seasons Leica format, directed by Franka Perković, and Practicing Life – Second Time directed by Marin Blažević. Don’t miss the opportunity to see the plays again, or perhaps even for the first time: Leica format on September 22, performed in memory of Daša Drndić, and Practicing Life – Second Time on September 24, performed in memory of Mira Furlan.
The hit musical Kiss Me, Kate by director and choreographer Tihana Strmečki is being transformed into Baciami, Cate this season. The rich tradition of staging musicals in Italy has prompted us to enable the Rijeka audience to experience this musical in Italian. You will be able to see the acting, singing and dancing forces of our ensembles in the premiere on September 20, with reprises on September 27 and 28.
Tickets are available online, and will be available at the Theatre box office starting tomorrow, September 3. An EU digital COVID Pass is required for entry to all performances, with the exception of the opera Madama Butterfly on September 25 and the musical Baciami, Cate on September 28, for which no COVID certificate will be required, as these performances will be held at a reduced capacity and will adhere to all current anti-epidemic measures.
