Kristina Kolar, national opera principal and winner of numerous awards, will perform at the upcoming concerts of opera arias and duets, “Nessun Dorma 1” and “Nessun Dorma 2”.
This season, we listened to and watched her in the role of Tosca in Puccini’s opera of the same name, and in the concerts “Operetta Evergreens” and “The Sound of Our Music”.
Kristina Kolar also gave us an unforgettable Aida, a role in which she won over not only the Rijeka and Croatian audiences, but also the world opera audience. In the concerts “Nessun Dorma 1” and “Nessun Dorma 2” we will once again hear Kristina Kolar as Aida, in both the duet between Aida and Radames, “La fatal pietra sovra me si chiuse”, and in the finale of the opera by Giuseppe Verdi.
Among the numerous rewards our national principal has received is the prestigious Milka Trnina Award, which she received for her performance in the role of Santuzza in the opera “Cavalleria Rusticana” by Pietro Mascagni. Those fortunate enough to attend the upcoming concerts will be able to hear her perform once again as Santuzza, in the duet between Santuzza and Alfio, “Oh! Il Signore vi manda compar Alfio” as well as in the excerpt, “Regina coeli laetare… Inneggiamo, il Signor non è morto.”
At the second concert, Kolar will perform the aria “Ritorna vincitor” from Act 1 of “Aida”, and the aria “In questa Reggia” by Puccini’s heroine Turandot, a role in which she excelled at the Giuseppe Verdi Theatre in Trieste at the end of last year.
