Preparations are underway for the concert performance of the opera Aida, which is being held on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of the opening of the Theatre building. The concert will be conducted by the new house conductor, maestro Valentin Egel, winner of the Lovro von Matačić International Competition for Young Conductors. The role of Aida will be played by the German soprano Maida Hundeling, who has already delighted the Rijeka audience in the title role of Strauss’s Elektra and as Isolde in Wagner’s opera Tristan und Isolde. The other main roles will also be held by excellent opera soloists such as national principal Dubravka Šeparović Mušović, Giorgio Surian, and, for the first time in the role of Radames, the celebrated tenor Domagoj Dorotić.
Take a look at the rehearsal photos in the gallery, and see you on October 3 at 8 PM.
Remember that all those who buy a ticket for the concert performance of Aida will also have the opportunity to buy a ticket for the October 3 performance of Nikola Šubić Zrinjski at a 40% discount! All proceeds from ticket sales of the Aida concert, as well as the fees of guest soloists, will go toward the work of the Giorgio Surian Opera Studio.
