“Spectacular,” “more than a successful project,” “a thousand wheels working flawlessly” … This is how critics described “Evita” after the Rijeka premiere in January.
That was the first time the world-famous musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber was staged in Croatia. The life story of the most influential woman in the history of Latin America, her struggle for power and human rights, and her care for the most vulnerable layers of society resonated deeply with the Croatian audience.
New performances of the popular “Evita” are once again on the program on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 7 and 8, starting at 9 PM. The titular role will be played by the musical stars Leonora Surian Popov on July 7, and Elena Brumini on July 8. Dario Bercich and Ivan Šimatović will feature in the role of Juan Domingo Perón, Fabijan Pavao Medvešek will perform the role of Che, Marko Fortunato will perform as Augustín Magaldi, and the role of the Lover will be played by Ana Majdak.
The performance features members of the Croatian and Italian drama companies, the Opera and Ballet of the CNT Zajc, students of the Rijeka Youth Theater “Kamov” (drama and ballet-dance studio), as well as the Josip Kaplan Youth Choir and the Kap Children’s Choir.
The number of seats in the de luxe theatre is limited, so hurry to secure your tickets!
