Nine brave actors from Rijeka and Ljubljana, Barbara Babačić, Daša Doberšek, Uroš Kaurin, Dean Krivačić, Jerko Marčić, Nika Mišković, Draga Potočnjak, Matej Recer and Blaž Šef, have brilliantly performed the hypocrisy of the rich Europe that puts under a microscope each immigrant, while thousands drown in the Mediterranean or perishes in the mud on the borders of Europe. This play attacks this unbearable easiness of existence to which Europe is accustomed, in order to show that we cannot remain silent in our own comfort while unbelievable things are taking place around us.
The poetics of shocking flashes, surprising images and impertinent language by which Frljić irritates both the right wing and the so-called moderate citizens, is already well-known, but for the staging Our Violence and Your Violence it is important that it is valuable proportionately to the measure of its gravity. It speaks of the horror of being a refugee and the horror of our silence. As the theoretician of politics Edmund Burke would say: “The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is that good people do not do anything…”

Bojan Munjin,  Novosti

The greatest burden of this performance is carried by excellent actors who through their characters postulate all that needs to worry us, things we would have to think about and what it is that has to provoke us or at least make us ask ourselves whether there is life out of our zone of our comfort.
