Premiere PATHÉTIQUE & THE RITE OF SPRING (LE SACRE DU PRINTEMPS)

Douglas Lee is a British choreographer who builds his authorship on neoclassical dance aesthetics. With the choreography of Pathétique, he will present himself to the Rijeka Ballet ensemble and the Rijeka audience for the first time. He draws inspiration from a strict tradition and a classical view of the musical form of Beethoven’s sonata op. 13 in C minor, better known as the Pathétique Sonata, while building the dramaturgy of his new ballet on the “Beethoven-esque” motif of defying fate.
